The party's draft plan for its Brexit policy, put forward by Mr Corbyn, suggests that, if Labour wins power in a general election, it would remain neutral while negotiating a new deal with the EU within three months.
It would then hold a referendum within six months, and the party would decide which side to back ahead of that at a special conference.

-> John Kiriakou: The Saudi Military Commit Crimes against Humanity but the American Media Doesn't Care
Slava Zilber: As a former CIA analyst, what can you say about the US assessment that blames Iran for the attack?
John Kiriakou: We haven't seen the official US intelligence response, but we have seen the Saudi analysis, which is deeply flawed. First, there has been no serious evidence that the attack on Aramco facilities came from Iran. The scorch patterns from the rockets do not tell a tale. The Saudis argue that the attack came from the North Northwest. That's irrelevant. Drones can be made to fly to a target from literally any direction. Even Saudi language doesn't make any sense. "The attacks were unquestionably sponsored by Iran," for example. What does that mean? He didn't say that the Iranians launched the attacks. So far, then, we can't trust anything we're hearing in the media, at least not definitively.

It is now down to president Ursula von der Leyen if she want both countries to nominate a new candidate.

-> What’s So Great About “Free Trade”?
The European Union (EU) is an anti-democratic, neoliberal project. It imposes austerity on the populations of member states, legislates for widespread privatization and leads to low growth-rates. Those leading the anti-EU, pro-Brexit charge want Britain to sign “free trade” deals with the US and growing economies. What they don’t tell you is that the very EU policies they claim to oppose are cut-and-paste into “free trade” deals outside the EU. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Brexit plans–assuming he has any–risk yanking Britain from a neoliberal EU whilst trapping the country in an ultra-neoliberal “free trade” deal with Trump’s America. In my new book, Privatized Planet: “Free Trade” as a Weapon Against Democracy, Healthcare and the Environment, I argue that “free trade”–EU or non-EU–is bad for working people: and we have NAFTA as a historical model to prove it.

-> Every fifth affected - Often only partial refund of Hartz IV (minimum welfare subsidy) rents
The municipalities cover the housing costs of Hartz IV recipients - but only if they are considered appropriate. Every fifth affected person had to pay part of the rent in 2018.
Almost one in five households with Hartz IV recipients has to pay some of the housing costs themselves. In 2018, the municipalities did not pay the full rent for 19.2 percent of all Hartz IV needs communities. This emerges from a response of the Federal Government to a request from the left-wing fraction, from which the news agency epd and the Funke Mediengruppe quote.
On average, those affected had to pay 985 euros a year for rent. This corresponds to 82 euros per month and thus almost one-fifth of the standard rate. According to the federal government, 546,000 households were affected throughout Germany.

However migration can also be business for making money beyond labor migration. In a state with a welfare system people are provided with a subsistence level albeit to varying degrees. On the one hand you can earn money by caring for people in a social system. In addition as a result of migration employers' organizations and politicians can question welfare systems and then reduce the welfare benefits and thus the implicit minimum wage.

... The credibility of claiming a shortage of skilled employers is inversely proportional to unemployment and the rise in wage levels. In certain fields it can happen that the demand for employees can not cover the supply of jobs. In such a case in a functioning market either the equilibrium price in the form of the wage level would increase. However wages are currently stagnating in much of Europe and the industrialized world. If one is unwilling to pay a reasonable price for a good or service then one can not complain about a shortage at this price. Or employers would resort to training young workers or retraining other workers with a different education. ...

-> City and Country - Real estate prices continue to rise
Even in rural areas, the boom is continuing: residential real estate is becoming increasingly expensive nationwide. The development in major cities remains particularly drastic.
Houses and apartments in Germany are becoming increasingly expensive - both in the metropolitan areas and in the countryside. In the second quarter of 2019, residential property prices were on average 5.2% higher than in the same period of the previous year, as calculated by the Federal Statistical Office.
Prices were particularly strong in the seven largest cities in the republic. In Berlin , Hamburg , Munich , Cologne , Frankfurt am Main , Stuttgart and Dusseldorf, one- and two-family houses increased in price within a year by ten percent, for condominiums buyers had to pay 8.6 percent more.
But real estate prices also increased in sparsely populated rural areas, where condominiums and houses on average rose by 4.2 percent each.

-> Dispute over Hammelsprung in the Bundestag - AfD fails with an urgent petition before the Federal Constitutional Court
Too few lawmakers? According to AfD, the Bundestag was not quorate in a night session at the end of June. The party then turned to the Federal Constitutional Court - initially without success.
...
The group then asked for a "lamb-meat" - this is the procedure used to establish quorum in Parliament. The application was rejected. Now the right-wing populists failed again - before the Federal Constitutional Court.
...
In a Hammelsprung, the deputies must leave the hall, before they then enter through several entrances back to the plenary. They are counted. If the meeting committee agrees that the quorum is in place, no mutton jump can be made.
