[Commentary] The Lefts Moral Trap

The left is trapped. For the Left the quality of their reputation is more important than to stand for what they claim to stand for. With this they have fallen into the trap and become victims of moral extortion. And so the left-wingers allow them to be seduced by their reputation.

The left regularly pleads for and on behalf of violent thugs under the guise of anti-fascism. They do this even if participants of the rally were seriously injured and publicly applaud the perpetrators. Thus a participant of a "`Merkel must go"'-demonstration was seriously injured by the Antifa and subsequently hospitalized. Christiane Schneider sits for the Left Party in the state parliament of Hamburg and thanked the Antifa afterwards. [2]

And they repeatedly claim to stand for civil rights and personal freedoms but they actively curtail the rights of dissenters. For this they paint at every opportunity the over-sized bogeyman of the evil-right-wingers. Angela Marquardt is a member of the Social Democrats and managing director of the think-tank Arbeitskreises Denkfabrik (working group think-tank). Marquardt has publicly advertised the collaboration with the Antifa in the Party Gazette of the Social Democrats. [6] Caren Ley sits for the Left Party in the Bundestag. Ley thanked counter-demonstrators for her behavior. They denied participants of a demonstration their right to demonstrate.

Such behavior is unlawful and contradicts the left-wing pledge to fight for civil rights and personal freedoms.
"All Germans have the right to assemble peacefully and without weapons without registration or permission" Grundgesetz Art. 8 [4]
"Anyone intending to prevent or blow up non-prohibited meetings or demonstrations or otherwise thwart their execution commits violence or threatens or cause serious disruption shall be punished with imprisonment of up to three years or a fine. "

Leftists plead indirectly for wage cuts through immigration under the guise of cosmopolitanism. For example as with the Unteilbar-Demo (indivisible demo) leftists already ally themselves with Islamist misogynists, people who hate homosexuals and people who hate jews under the guise of anti-racism. At the demonstration in Berlin members of the Social Democrats and the Left Party allied themselves without any objection and once again with Islamists. [11] [12] It could be considered as a mistake, if this behavior were not symptomatic. It could be overlooked, if it did not happen again and again and the actors would at least distance themselves.

Here the left again draws the over-sized bogeyman of the evil-right-wingers as a justification for their actions and is then haunted by it. And they even join forces with the Greens in the state parliaments to win majorities. The same party that knows no war in which they don't want to join and the same party that joined chancellor Schröder to disassembled the welfare state between 1998 and 2005. In doing so they become entangled in these contradictions and undermine their promises for a better standard of living. The latter is obviously not enough anyway to counter the new right-wing-parties, once one looks at Sweden. [13] [14] [15]

In this they care more about the quality of their reputation than to stand up for what they pretend to stand for. Where the Greens have already given up the left threatens to fail.

Leftists can not give all their strength for a better standard of living while at the same time spending their time elsewhere. Leftists neglect their mandate this way and allow themselves to fail due to attrition. Or short:
"You can't have the cake and eat it at the same time. "
