A recording of an intercepted telephone conversation between Warsaw and Berlin has been published in Belarus. It is about blogger Alexei Navalny, who is currently in the German clinic "Charite". The audio recording was published by the "Pool of the First" telegram channel.
A certain Nick takes part in the conversation from Berlin, and Mike from Warsaw. The German side reported that the materials on Navalny were ready and would be transferred to the administration of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The representative of the Polish side asked if the poisoning was precisely confirmed , to which the German side replied as follows:
“Look, Mike, it's not that important in this case. There is a war going on, and during a war all methods are good.
Warsaw agreed with this statement, noting that Putin needs to discourage "prying his nose" into the affairs of Belarus. A certain Mike argues that the most effective way to do this is to drown him in the problems of Russia.
In a telephone conversation Berlin also asked about the state of affairs with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. To this, Warsaw noted that "not very," but the head of state turned out to be "a tough nut to crack."

While media, scholars and news outlets have been focused on covering the COVID-19 pandemic, global crises and conflicts have continued. One prominent crisis that has been illuminated by the global pandemic is that of migrants and asylum seekers. In Europe, this illumination is one that comes from the shortcomings that have been exposed in the European Union’s migration and asylum policies.
The European Union’s New Pact on Asylum and Migration was supposed to be adopted within the first quarter of 2020, however due to the exceptional circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic this has been pushed to the second quarter of 2020. The Pact became a new priority for the European Commission following the so-called migration crisis in 2015 when an unprecedented number of people fled from conflict areas such as Syria, which resulted in nearly 1.2 million asylum seekers in the EU. This surge of asylum seekers and migrants shook the “European immigration and asylum policy to the point that the EU’s fundamental values of the respect of Human Rights and ‘burden sharing’ have been challenged”. Failures and shortcomings of past treaties and pacts have not only challenged the European Union’s migration and asylum policies but have also challenged the idea of European solidarity and trust between member states. The call for a New Pact has been in the works for quite some time to answer the problems and shortcomings that were highlighted in the wake of the migration humanitarian crises from 2015 and on. In fact, in May of 2016, the European Commission proposed a reformation of the current Dublin system, however Member States had been unable to agree on how to move forward with reformation.

These were all facets of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030—perhaps the most ambitious economic diversification in the world. Now, that ambition is in tatters. Can Saudi Arabia pick up the pieces and truly diversify its economy away from oil, or are its plans dead in the water, leaving the Kingdom’s survival forever tied to oil revenues?
Earlier this week, Saudi Arabia’s Aramco said it would shelve an investment of several billion dollars in Sempra Energy’s Port Arthur LNG terminal. It also said it would delay investments in a 20-billion US-Dollar refining and petrochemical project at home, at its Yanbu hub. The reason: cash conservation.
Earlier this year, Riyadh government sources told the Wall Street Journal that Saudi Arabia was not pursuing its 200-billion US-Dollar solar farm project it had conceived in partnership with Japan’s SoftBank. Nobody was working on the project, the sources said, and Riyadh was discussing a replacement with several smaller solar projects.
The 500-billion US-Dollar smart city project, Neom, is still on the table, it appears. The Kingdom’s oil ministry recently said it would help fund the project and make sure it was completed on time.

Niemand will rechtsradikale Trommler durch Berlin ziehen sehen. Aber darum geht es in diesem Zusammenhang nicht. Es geht darum, ob Berlin juristisch bestimmen möchte, für welche Inhalte man demonstrieren darf und für welche nicht. So, wie der Gesetzesentwurf formuliert ist, könnte die Hauptstadt mit ihm in Karlsruhe scheitern. Das wäre so peinlich wie unnötig.

Dass Strom in Deutschland nicht preiswert zu haben ist, ist bekannt. Auch dass die Preise unaufhörlich steigen, sollte sich herumgesprochen haben. Neu ist, dass nirgendwo sonst auf dem Globus so viel Geld für die Energieversorgung berappt werden muss wie hierzulande.

Wie auch immer, die Stromversorgung ist hierzulande eine richtig teure Angelegenheit. Deutsche Verbraucher zahlen im internationalen Vergleich die höchsten Strompreise. Zu diesem Ergebnis kommt eine Preisanalyse von 135 Ländern, die das Vergleichsportal Verivox mit den Daten des Energiedienstes Global Petrol Prices durchgeführt hat. Seit der Jahrtausendwende hat sich der Strompreis hierzulande mehr als verdoppelt. Was auch am hohen Anteil von Steuern, Umlagen und Abgaben, der mittlerweile mehr als 50 Prozent des Strompreises ausmacht, liegt. So hat sich beispielsweise die EEG-Umlage, die den Ausbau der erneuerbaren Energien finanziert, seit 2004 mehr als verzehnfacht.

Aber auch in anderen großen Industriestaaten ist Strom zum Teil erheblich günstiger als in Deutschland. So müssen private Verbraucher in den USA mit 13,03 Cent für eine Kilowattstunde nicht einmal die Hälfte dessen zahlen, was Verbraucher hierzulande schultern. In Saudi-Arabien, Russland, Mexiko, China, Indien, Argentinien, Indonesien, der Türkei, in Kanada und Südkorea werden weniger als 10 Cent pro Kilowattstunde Strom fällig.
Und selbst wenn das unterschiedliche Preisniveau zwischen den Ländern berücksichtigt wird, liegt Deutschland laut der Untersuchung im weltweiten, kaufkraftbereinigten Strompreisvergleich immer noch auf Platz 16 und ist damit der teuerste G-20-Staat. Dahinter folgen mit Abstand Italien und die Türkei. Im kaufkraftbereinigten Vergleich am teuersten ist Strom in Ruanda, gefolgt von Nicaragua und Burkina Faso. Am günstigsten ist es im Sudan, in Äthiopien und in Simbabwe.

Die Studie spricht Ba?nde: Demnach gaben u?ber 90 Prozent der Befragten an, mindestens das Abitur (beziehungsweise die Fachhochschulreife) gemacht zu haben oder dies gerade anzustreben. Eine u?berwa?ltigende Mehrheit von 90 Prozent! Eine Hauptschule besuchte nicht einmal 1 Prozent der Demonstranten. Knapp zwei Drittel der Schu?ler rechneten sich selbst der oberen Mittelschicht zu. Auch zuvor hatte ich schon keinen Zweifel daran, dass „Fridays for Future“ eine Bewegung der Bessergestellten ist. Aber was ich in dieser Studie zu lesen bekam, u?bertraf meine Vermutungen noch. „Fridays for Future“ verko?rpert damit nicht einmal ansatzweise den Querschnitt der Gesellschaft, wie so oft behauptet wurde.

Was la?sst sich auch dagegen einwenden? Jeder Mensch ist auf der suche nach Anerkennung. Mo?chte nicht jeder die Chancen in seinem Leben nutzen? Und schließlich braucht jede Gesellschaft ihren ehrgeizigen Nachwuchs, der Politik, Wirtschaft und Kultur spa?ter bereichern wird.
Menschen, die im Mittelpunkt stehen wollen, tragen im besten Fall ja auch Verantwortung fu?r sich und andere. Soweit kein Problem, ko?nnte man im ersten Moment meinen.
Doch wie werden es wohl viele Menschen mit begrenzten finanziellen Mo?glichkeiten empfinden, wenn jene Rebellen, die permanent auf den Lebensstil anderer eindreschen, daraus fu?r sich selbst Vorteile ziehen? Wa?hrend viele Bu?rger in ihrem Alltag neue Klimakosten hinnehmen mu?ssen, erleben sie zugleich, wie eine Luisa Neubauer einen Aufsichtsratsposten bei Siemens angeboten bekommt. Angesichts dessen wird der Verdacht vieler Menschen nur allzu versta?ndlich, dass Klimaaktivisten gerade auf Kosten anderer Bu?rger Karriere machen.

Am vergangenen Mittwoch (23.9.2020) rückten 800 Beamte der Bundespolizei aus, um im deutschen Schlachthof-Sumpf zu ermitteln. Wie immer geschehen solche Aktionen „in den frühen Morgenstunden“. Ein Schwerpunkt der Razzien war Weißenfels in Sachsen-Anhalt, wo der Tönnies-Konzern seine zweitgrößte Schlachtfabrik unterhält. Hier werden täglich 20.000 Schweine verarbeitet. Zum Leidwesen vieler Anwohner geschieht das mitten in einem Wohngebiet. Diese Anwohner sahen auch das Elend der Wanderarbeiter, die während des Corona-Lockdowns mitunter in Autos am Straßenrand übernachteten.
