The summer in 2019 seems to be putting more people into turmoil than ever before.
The press simultaneously writes about extreme weather, a heat wave and a heat record.
It seems that at least the majority agrees that man-made climate change is to blame.
And in Lingen in Lower Saxony even a new heat record for all of Germany has been measured.
On closer inspection however there are at least big doubts about this narrative.
On July 25, several messages overbid each other with ever higher temperatures. And in Lingen in Lower Saxony, a temperature of 42.6 ° C (108.68 ° Fahrenheit) should have been measured. The value for Lingen stands out against all stations that measured a maximum of 40 ° C (104 ° Fahrenheit). [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
This would actually be a new record for all of Germany. According to the German Weather Service (deutscher Wetterdienst/DWD) the value was checked. And that same day the German Weather Service (deutscher Wetterdienst/DWD) has confirmed the value for Lingen. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
However Wetter-Online reported on July 30, that they did not recognize the value because the necessary conditions were not met. For a realistic measurement sensors must be protected against solar radiation. Sensors must be sufficiently ventilated to be able to adapt to the temperature of the air. And sensors must not be placed too close to sources of interference such as tarmac or plants. [6] [7] [8] [9]
As a result the values then set a continuous course of the various probes. The measured values of neighboring probes will not be as different from each other as in Lingen. However the sensor in Lingen is too close to plants which is why the warm air remained too much at the sensor. The fact that the value for Lingen exceeds over all neighboring stations with a maximum of 40 ° C (104 ° Fahrenheit) is then merely the peak of improbability. [6] [7] [8] [9]
The supposed record of Lingen and that it was recorded so uncritically sheds a glaring light on the debate. Instead of questioning the values and reading them critically it was simply repeated for it confirmed the prevailing narrative. And with regard that the German weather service (deutscher Wetterdienst/DWD) has accepted this value lightly there is one question. How many of such cases are there?
