Recession's Underestimated Danger
ROME/BERLIN (Own report) - Financial experts from Switzerland's major UBS bank are warning of Italy's considerable risks in the case of a recession in the euro zone and they do not rule out the country's exit from the euro. If there is a recession, Rome must expect credit downgrades, UBS notes. Its national debt could easily soar out of control, and leaving the euro possibly could no longer be avoided. A fierce dispute is looming between Berlin and Brussels, on the one hand, and with Rome on the other, because Italy's budget deficit is higher than expected, due to its significant economic slump. Brussels and Berlin are currently only hesitant about engaging in the dispute because of the conflict over the Brexit and particularly because of the approaching EU elections, according to observers. At the same time, Germany is, itself, also moving toward stagnation, not least of all, because of a slump in Germany's export-dependent automotive industry.

Julian Assange Languishes in Prison as His Journalistic Collaborators Brandish Their Prizes
WHILE JULIAN ASSANGE languishes in south London’s maximum-security Belmarsh Prison, a British court is weighing his fate. The 48-year-old Australian founder of WikiLeaks is serving time for the minor crime of jumping bail by taking asylum in the Ecuadorian Embassy in 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden. His fear at the time was that the Swedes, with a track record of assisting rendition of suspects sought by the U.S., would send him straight across the Atlantic. Now that he has lost his diplomatic refuge, 70 British members of Parliament have petitioned to dispatch Assange to Sweden if prosecutors there reopen the case they closed in 2017. The greater threat to his liberty is the U.S. Department of Justice’s extradition demand for him to stand trial in the U.S. for conspiring with Chelsea Manning to hack a government computer.

IT WAS one of the finest baroque churches in the world until the night of 13 February 1945, when Allied bombers destroyed the city of Dresden and up to 100,000 of its inhabitants. After the war, the city's Frauenkirche was left as a blackened ruin to remind the world of that terrible night.

Foreign and Domestic Enemies
BERLIN (Own report) - Nebulous warnings from anonymous intelligence officials are sustaining Brussels and Berlin's campaign against alleged Russian interference in the European election campaign. German flagship media are quoting intelligence officials saying that "efforts" are being made "to support Russia-friendly or EU-critical parties." Presenting no evidence, they claim instead that, in this case, Russian activities are "less visible" than in other cases. The EU has increased its staff and means for its "EU East Stratcom Taskforce," claiming to reveal "pro-Kremlin" propaganda, while openly making propaganda for the European Union. With an annual budget of five million euros, the Taskforce is propagating fake news. To such allegations about Russia's "hybrid war, " advanced, for example, by a US specialist on Russia in an article on the so-called "Gerasimov doctrine," German military officials respond "they are not doing anything different from us." Playing on anti-Russian sentiment, Berlin is increasingly attacking not only the foreign enemy, but also the domestic opposition - as alleged puppets of Moscow.

Protest against migration deal - How Seehofer's deportation plan is being negotiated
Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer (CSU) proposes more sanctions and stricter detention rules in his draft for the so-called „Orderly Return Law“. The CDU justice ministers have legal concerns. But the Cabinet will probably decide the proposal. Because he is part of a deal.
...
Measured by the number of deportations, his balance sheet after a year as Minister of the Interior initially turns out to be negative: the numbers are declining. While almost 24,000 people were deported from Germany in 2017, in 2018 there were around 4,000 fewer people. Therefore, now the „Orderly Return Law“ is to be decided to deport more people.
...
„People are supposed to be detained here for up to 14 days, according to the wording of the law, even if they miss an appointment, which is totally disproportionate, of course, and imprisonment can only be used as a last resort and this proportionality is here no longer exists at all, „says Bellinda Bartolucci of Pro Asyl. Not only on the part of the refugee organizations, the Union has to deal with criticism of the draft. He had triggered unusually large protests in several country justice ministers. In a letter to Interior Minister Seehofer, the Ministers of Justice of the SPD and Greens from the federal states gave vent to their anger. They refer to the original as – quotation – „undifferentiated and in large part constitutional and politically questionable.“

EU copyright law receives final approval
More than 2.5 years after the European Commission proposed it, the directive on copyright was given the final approval by member states in the Council of the EU on Monday. The text of the directive was the subject of intense debate and lobbying, with fears that the rules, meant to protect creators, could inadvertently stifle free speech. EU countries have two years to transpose the directive into national law.

Funded by the employment agency: Every third placement leads to temporary work
In 2018, almost every third placement of the Federal Employment Agency (BA) led the unemployed in temporary employment. In some cases these transfers are even subsidized by the BA. This emerges from the response of the Federal Government to a question from the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen faction. The Employment Agency thus promotes employment relationships that are often poorly paid and short-lived.

... One side of labor migration is the increase in wage pressure due to an oversupply of applicants. Here the demand side of labor that is employers is deliberately over-advantaged by an oversupply of employees. In such a scenario employers can then dictate conditions and the price in the form of wages. And in order to achieve this the Bertelsmann Foundation's 2019 study explicitly calls for labor migration from outside Europe. Thus the Bertelsmann Foundation calls for labor migration from countries that almost always have a lower wage level than Germany. [3] [3,pdf] ...

Domestic Intelligence warns of Antisemitism within Islamism
...
More pronounced are anti-Semitic views, however, in Islamism, in which religious, territorial and / or political motives to an anti-Semitic world view. The "enemy image of Judaism" forms a central pillar on which the arguments of all Islamist groups are based.
Such an insight is gaining in importance especially against the background of the influx of more than 1,000,000 Muslims1 into the Federal Republic of Germany between 2014 and 2017. Many of these people come from countries where antisemitic attitudes have been so commonplace for decades that even children naturally grow up with it.
source: bfv,p.5 ...
All Islamist organizations have in common that they hardly distinguish between the state of Israel and the Jewish people, either linguistically or in content. Thus centuries-old antisemitic stereotypes are often transferred to the current state of Israel.
source: bfv,p.25 ...
Such events suggest that Islamist anti-Semitic ideology is increasingly found in Muslim society outside Islamist organizations. Whether this is a permanent phenomenon - possibly even a continuing trend - remains to be seen.
