[Commentary] Are all cultures of equal value

An ethnicity or ethnic group is a group different from others in its genome and appearance. A culture is the sum of man-made norms, values, manners and behaviors that are different from others. Intersections are possible in both cases.

Both China and Taiwan are mostly populated by Han Chinese. North and South Korea are populated almost exclusively by Koreans. Nevertheless, cultures differ in both cases not least because of the communist governments. Bosnians, Serbs and Croats belong to the same ethnic group of the Southern Slavs and speak more or less the same language but belong to different religions.

Pakistan has emerged from a part of India and various ethnicites can be found in both countries but they are part of different religions. And in Egypt there is a Christian minority in addition to the Muslim majority. A Christian equivalent to the IS, Al-Qaeda, Taliban, Al-Shabaab, Boko Haram, etc. does not exist but in the Middle East like IS it could recruit millions of people. However they do not do so even though Christians in the Middle East live in the same or in part worse conditions than Muslims thanks to the Muslim Brotherhood and others. People of the same ethnic group, Arabs, Punjabis, Sindhis etc. (but not Islam because Islam is not a race) behave differently depending on their culture and religion.

The culture of the West is characterized by the enlightenment of rational thought and the emancipation of religions. Particular importance is attached to the liberation from one's own immaturity. And this freedom and encouragement to think and research is why this culture has spawned inventions such as printing, antibiotics, the steam engine or the internal combustion engine and personalities such as Max Planck, Albert Einstein, Nicolaus Copernicus or Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev and no other culture. In the current left-liberal discourse however we will all be made immature again if they justify and possibly apologize our behavior only with our background and past. But those who treat people like immature citizens will produce nothing more as immature citizens and therefore this behavior must be stopped.

Opposite to this is a culture in which life is only a test for the purgatory, which demands the submission to its own dogmas, in which religion still has the claim and the privilege over interpretations and has little to no rights for women, homosexuals, independent thinkers and so-called non-believers, including millions of Muslims themselves. A culture in which people are declared unfit, e.g. because women are supposed to disguise themselves in public because the public does not demand enough self-restraint from men or the inflated number of imams preaching the rules of conduct so that one does not pray in the wrong direction. And this bondage and immaturity, as well as submission to religion as an authority, sets this culture back.

This is reflected in the overwhelming support for corporal punishment for offenses such as theft, stoning for adultery or the death penalty for turning away from Islam. Also observable are the views of Jews by country. And the Muslim countries from the Middle East and North Africa are particularly hostile to Jews. Only 21 \% in France and 16 \% Germany in have negative views on Jews but 74 \% in Pakistan, 76 \% in Indonesia, 99 \% in Lebanon, 100 \% in Jordan and 88 \% in Morocco. Pakistan, Indonesia and Morocco are not neighboring countries of Israel and have never been at war with Israel. The argument of the direct influence of the Middle East conflict on anti-semitism is therefore very weak. This would not be explainable without the influence of religion in this culture. [1,S.52,54,55] [2]

Practices that arrived in Germany such the attacks during the New Year's Eve in Cologne or honor killings come from this culture. They emerged on a fertile soil of unfreedom and submission to a religion that has few or even no rights for women, homosexuals, independent thinkers and so-called non-believers, which includes muslims as well. Meanwhile there are more honor killings annualy than murders are attributed to the NSU-complex. [3] [4] [5] [6]

The assumptions that all cultures are of equal value hinders one from the wisdom of other cultures e.g. learning from Buddhism (peace and modesty) or Shinto (respect for nature) and leaves us vulnerable to the harmful excesses of other cultures. And those who surrender to this assumption from a safe distance protected by their own culture undermine the efforts of all those who oppose oppression and submission. The so-called liberalism has become a narrow-minded illiberalism that questions the freedom of expression, freedom of opinion and tolerates intolerance from the outside in the name of tolerance and slanders all legitimate criticism hysterically as illegitimate or even racist. On this fertile ground, an authoritarian and violent new order may arise either from the outside forces or against them. Those who want a free, peaceful and tolerant society must also demand freedom, peace and tolerance from everyone without exception. Otherwise one reaps even without economic need election results as in Austria, Slovenia or Sweden.

If all cultures were equal then freedom and human rights would have no value as soon as there is a culture without them, cannibalism would no longer be a crime and the murder of Pamela Mastropietro would not have been a tragedy. [7] Therefore it is our duty to protect the civilizational achievements of our culture and to reject people with inhuman ideas along with them.

"Wir müssen eine weitere Zuwanderung aus fremden Kulturen unterbinden. Die Zuwanderung von Menschen aus dem Osten Anatoliens oder aus Schwarzafrika löst das Problem nicht, sie schafft nur ein zusätzliches dickes Problem. "
Helmut Schmidt [8]

"We have to stop further immigration from foreign cultures. The immigration of people from eastern Anatolia or sub-Saharan Africa does not solve the problem it only creates an additional big problem. "
Helmut Schmidt [8]
